True to the values of excellence, customer service and one family, Meatworld once again demonstrated its commitment to work together with food retail institutions in making quality meat within the reach of average Filipino consumers.
On July 14, 2015, Meatworld hosted a basic course on meat retailing at SM Hypermarket Mall of Asia’s training room. Led by Ms. Cris Camino who is in charge of all SM outlets, supervisors Eric Mendoza and Jolly Arganda ably assisted the trainer duo Ms. Josephine Maza and Ms. Janneth Magsino in bringing to life the peculiarities of meat retailing operations. About 50 participants from various SM Hyper outlets attended the one-day learning event.
The program tackled hygiene and sanitation processes as well as proper meat handling procedures. Meatworld butchers also demonstrated how primal cuts are broken into retail cuts. A question-and-answer portion capped the program, with an enthusiastic exchange transpiring among the group particularly on the question “ano ang mas malambot- pigue ba o casim?”
The participants from SM Hyper and the training team from Meatworld all exited the training room with smiles on their faces, and in their hearts a renewed dedication to serve the needs and meet the expectations of the meat-consuming public.
Ms. Maza and Ms. Magsino are trainers are from Winfield International Training and Consultancy, Inc. who have trained thousands of Filipino meat retail merchandizers and butchers, many of whom have found lucrative careers abroad.
